CONSTRUCTION PROJECT OF A HOSPITALIZATION AND EMERGENCY CONSULTATION BLOCK
The project for the construction of a block of hospitalization and emergency consultations is a hospital project carried by the Ministry of Public Health of Cameroon which aims to strengthen the capacities of the hospital in the city of Mokolo, which passed from District Hospital at Annex Regional Hospital. The project is located in the Department of Mayo-Tsanaga, in the Far North Region. It is actually an emergency reception service, developed over an area of approximately 4000m².
And as such, most of it happens at the time of the "program", the aim being to minimize subsequent changes. This program starts from a well thought out, discussed (medical staff, administration, architects, engineers, etc.) and written service project. The construction project takes into account, first, a detailed needs analysis and then the comparison of the existing with external data (bibliography, visits to other departments, etc.).
The main principles or concepts of the project must be formalized very early on and concern, for the program, many points:
Zoning: we have divided the project into several functional areas, as required by regulations: the reception and orientation area, the examination and treatment area, the medical imaging area, the service area and the staff. The architecture takes into account flows. Depending on the importance of these flows, each area can be divided into secondary areas, rather than organized into a single large area.
Versatility of areas: versatility, flexibility and adaptability are major objectives that we have sought in our program, due to the rapidly changing environment. The standardization and uniformity of the premises, and in particular of the examination rooms, facilitate ergonomics and patient care.
The structure has in particular an operating room made up of two (02) operating theaters, a scanner room respecting the strictest standards in the matter, laboratories and blood bank and psychiatric and pediatric units. and neonatology.
